What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships have been designed by the industry, in consultation with employers, to meet their demands for capable and motivated people. An apprenticeship combines a real job with high quality training and nationally recognised qualifications to give young people the opportunity to gain experience and earn whilst they learn.
What will their study look and feel like?
Asset apprenticeships are offered at intermediate and advanced levels in a range of Business, HR, Teaching Assistant, Marketing, Accountancy and many more. The programmes we offer will provide a solid foundation of skills and knowledge to build a career in the apprentice’s chosen field. With input from employers, the qualifications we offer have been designed by industry bodies and Sector Skills Councils and are therefore relevant to the needs of the respective industry. The young person is entitled to 6 hours per week off their job to complete study and work toward their apprenticeship. This doesn’t mean they will attend college or Asset office; their study and work can be done in the workplace. They will be given teaching and learning in their chosen field of study by our highly experienced industry expert tutors and supported in achieving math’s and English if they haven’t already done so. They will be supported by their employer to learn the hands-on experience in the workplace.
Additional support
Asset has a welfare team who support learners with a wide variety of needs. See our Welfare tab for more information. We also have functional skill experts who support learners with their Maths and English achievement.
What is next?
We hope all apprentices will be successful with their chosen course and remain in full‐time employment with their employer. For Apprentices on a fixed‐term contract or those wishing to progress to a higher-level qualification, details of all options available can be obtained from their learning facilitator.
For those who would benefit from support with career plans, Asset offer free careers advice and guidance.
